Christina Hendricks Dazzles on LA Times Magazine
Christina Hendricks is a stunning actress seen on the latest LA Times Magazine. In a refreshing twist, instead of focusing on her storied to-die-for hourglass figure, the magazine gives us some gorgeous close-ups of the 35-year-old, who plays much-loved office manager Joan Harris on the cult AMC series.
On the cover, a flash of Hendricks’s signature red mane is complemented by a crystal-studded Philip Treacy pillbox hat and a chunky green and black statement necklace by Tim Szlyk for House of Lavande, while on the inside pages she wears more lush accessories, including a pink feathered hat by Laura Kranitz and a dazzling bib necklace by Alexis Bittar.
In the accompanying article, the actress tells the magazine how she relates to her sexy character. “I don’t think it’s not feminist to use every tool you have to succeed, and part of that is being a woman — presenting yourself in a certain way.”"I was obsessed with the Canadian novel ‘Anne of Green Gables.’ So my mother said, ‘Let’s just go to the drugstore and get one of those cover-the-gray rinses!’ My hair was very blond at the time, but it went carrot red. And I was over the moon.”
As for her quirkier talents, Hendricks says playing the accordion, a skill she picked up around 5 years ago, keeps her busy.”It is such a rich instrument for one person,” she says. “You can get so much out of it, like a one-man band. I also think it’s a very romantic instrument, and it channels all the things I love — French culture, Tom Waits — and all the things I try to make my house look like.”

Fashion is a business, but you must always stay true to yourself.
“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.”
